6B06: November 6, 2018

Election Day 2018! I’m proud to be commissioner-elect in 6B06. In the next two years, I hope to get to know more neighbors and advocate for positive change in our community. As part of that, here’s newsletter #1

311 Requests in 6B06
I’m still working on finalizing the code to this, but expect to see any abnormal amount of requests, where I can proactively push agencies to respond. For example, as parking enforcement requests increased when construction projects began, these 311 requests would serve as data to get DPW to respond torequests quicker.

Project Updates
New York Pizza Project-Completion still scheduled for Summer 2019. Representatives from Neighborhood Restaurant Group met with affected neighbors last week about patio hours and public space permits.

Schedule Of Events
Nov 7, 6:30 PM. ANC 6B Transportation Committee.
This month, the committee will meet to discuss two items of direct impact on ANC 6B. One, which I detailed earlier, involved short-term fixes to the complicated intersection of Kentucky/Potomac/15th/G. The other, involves discussion of Mayor Bowser’s recent discussion with the Council about new Vision Zero initiatives. At that meeting, I plan on introducing a motion supporting all-ways stops at the local/local intersections of 10th/South Caroline, 14th/South Carolina, 12th/G, and 5th/D. None of those are are in 6B06, but they affect pedestrian and cyclist safety in the area as a whole.
